Welcome to the Nurture podcast/ blog.
Let’s create the beautiful world our hearts know is possible.
Nurture Pod 42: Astoria to Arequipa. Nurture goes International
In the first episode reporting from Peru, Ginger catches up with Iris on what has been a wild travel ride for the past 3 weeks. Selling home, leaving the US, and solo traveling on a spiritual pilgrimage meets deeply rooted Oregon coast creative community, art and family energy. Nurture culture encompasses both and much more.

Nurture Pod 40: The Fool Steps Forward
When new chapters are unfolding very often the heart will go where the mind fears to tread. How do we know when to follow our heart/soul's urge to step into the unknown and when to stick to the path well trodden?
In this episode Iris and Ginger break down 5 ways the heart is indicating she would like to take the wheel. To create a new nurture culture/future we must get familiar with trusting what feels like uncharted territory. When in doubt- use this check list as confirmation you're moving in the right direction.
Many thanks to author Brianna Wiest for this excellent list!

Nurture Pod 39: Mediating the Media
In this episode Ginger and Iris dive into the "theory of change" a term coined by David Bornstein of the Solutions Journalism Network. Basically the idea that reporting on how bad everything it will lead to a better world.
Now that the global news stream on our phones is being updated every 2 minutes how can our nervous systems handle to being inundated with everything that's going wrong while being offered few if any solutions?
Can a better world emerge when so many avoid, deny, blame and don't trust the media? What could nurture journalism look like and what impact would it have on how we view and respond to the world around us?
Notes:
This conversation was inspired by an interview of David Bornstein by Krista Tippet of the On Being podcast. Find the whole episode here.
Solutions Journalism Network is an organization addressing this very issue in journalism and presenting solutions and new ways of covering world events. Find them here.

Nurture Pod 38: We Never Left the garden
Happy Beltane (aka May Day) everyone. In this episode Iris and Ginger talk about the blossoming of life as spring tips towards summer, doing the dew magic, being ecstatic as our natural state and the power of imagination.
Light a candle. Pick yourself a bouquet of flowers. Eat cake under the crescent moon tonight. Magic is the real deal. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
